Our brief was to create a garden that feels both timeless and responsive, respecting the heritage of the site while introducing subtle, thoughtful interventions. The design embraces the existing contours and landforms, incorporating productive planting, wildlife habitats – guided by best practices for native plants and wildflowers promoted by Plantlife and layered planting schemes that evolve with the seasons.
Reused materials, sustainable construction, and craft-led detailing underpin the project, creating spaces that feel natural, enduring, and intimately connected to the estate. A walled kitchen garden, terraces, and outdoor living areas offer shelter, structure, and moments to pause and enjoy the landscape.
The resulting garden is rooted in place – a carefully considered, heritage-inspired landscape that balances ecology, beauty, and human experience.
